Human Resources (HR) Benefits Assistant
We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Benefits Assistant to provide high-volume administrative support during a busy Open Enrollment period in Van Nuys, California. This Human Resources (HR) Benefits Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage benefit-related processes with accuracy, respond to employee questions professionally, and help maintain timely payroll deductions. The Human Resources (HR) Benefits Assistant in this role will contribute to a smooth enrollment experience by handling records carefully, reviewing data for completeness, and supporting payroll readiness through detailed validation work.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees who need assistance with benefit questions, coverage options, and enrollment-related concerns.
• Enter and update benefits information in HR systems while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and completeness.
• Guide employees through benefit selection activities and help ensure elections are submitted correctly within required timelines.
• Review enrollment records to confirm benefit choices are reflected properly in the system and align with submitted documentation.
• Perform audits of benefit enrollments and payroll deductions to identify discrepancies and support timely correction of issues.
• Partner with internal teams to verify that employee deductions are set up accurately before payroll processing deadlines.
• Assist with reconciliation activities ahead of the first payroll cycle to help reduce errors and avoid downstream adjustments.
• Support overall Open Enrollment operations by helping maintain service levels, improve response times, and reinforce quality control throughout the process.
• UKG software is a bug PLUS.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in human resources support, benefits administration, or a closely related HR role.
• Hands-on experience working with HRIS platforms and entering or maintaining employee benefits data.
• Familiarity with Open Enrollment processes, benefit plan elections, and payroll deduction review activities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit records, identify inconsistencies, and follow through on corrections.
• Effective communication skills for assisting employees and handling benefit-related inquiries in a detail-oriented manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
• Working knowledge of compensation and benefits administration, employee relations support, onboarding activities, or screening coordination is preferred.
