Cloud Director - AWS

We are seeking a strategic cloud technology leader to define and execute the enterprise cloud strategy across infrastructure, applications, data platforms, and cloud-native development. This role will lead cloud architecture, engineering, operations, governance, and modernization efforts while establishing the processes, standards, and operating models that enable teams to build, deploy, manage, and analyze solutions in AWS.

The ideal candidate combines executive leadership experience with deep expertise in cloud platforms, software engineering, DevOps, data services, and large-scale transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long-term cloud strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
• Lead cloud architecture, platform engineering, operations, and governance across enterprise AWS environments.
• Establish standards and processes that support infrastructure, application development, data engineering, analytics, and cloud-native solution delivery.
• Drive cloud adoption, application modernization, automation, CI/CD, platform engineering, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Partner with Application Development, Data & Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Architecture leaders to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
• Champion DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and self-service platform capabilities that improve delivery speed and reliability.
• Implement governance for cloud security, compliance, FinOps, risk management, and data management practices.
• Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that support current and future business capabilities.
• Build and lead high-performing teams of architects, engineers, DevOps professionals, and cloud platform specialists.
• Define KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting to measure platform health, adoption, service quality, and business value.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships and support budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning activities.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including ownership of enterprise cloud strategy and transformation programs.
• Deep expertise in AWS, including compute, networking, storage, security, identity, platform, and data services.
• Proven experience leading cloud platforms that support infrastructure, software engineering, application delivery, and enterprise data initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of modern application architectures, including microservices, APIs, containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, data engineering, analytics, and governance frameworks.
• Demonstrated success implementing DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Platform Engineering, and SRE practices.
• Strong background in cloud governance, security, compliance, FinOps, and operational risk management.
• Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, lead organizational change, and deliver modernization programs with measurable business outcomes.
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience building teams, developing talent, and driving performance through metrics and accountability.
