Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to support financial operations for a company based in Lewes, Delaware. This is a Long-term Contract position suited for a hands-on accounting leader who can oversee core close activities, strengthen financial controls, and provide dependable support across payroll, contract review, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in SaaS environments and is comfortable working within NetSuite while partnering with internal stakeholders on key accounting priorities.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and help maintain accurate, timely financial reporting across the organization.
• Review payroll transactions and validate related entries to support accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
• Examine customer and vendor contract terms within Salesforce to identify accounting implications and support revenue-related assessments.
• Assist with month-end and period-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entry review, and account analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls and address routine accounting needs that keep the finance function operating effectively.
• Partner with the existing accounting team to balance workload coverage and provide senior-level support where needed.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for auditors and contribute to readiness for upcoming interim audit activities.
• Use NetSuite and other financial systems to monitor transactions, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting consistency.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong background in SaaS or software-as-a-service business environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of NetSuite and confidence working within accounting systems to manage financial operations.
• Experience reviewing payroll processes and supporting accurate accounting treatment for payroll-related activity.
• Ability to assess contracts for accounting impact, including work performed in systems such as Salesforce.
• Prior audit support experience, ideally including preparation for interim or external audit requests.
• Foundation in public accounting, with Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities effectively.

Compensation

$71.25-$82.50 Hourly
