Job Description:
JSL Technologies is seeking a GWS and NFCS Engineering Support Specialist to provide systems engineering, hardware engineering, test and evaluation, lifecycle support, and fleet support for the MK 34 and MK 48 Gun Weapon Systems and the Naval Fires Control System.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide systems engineering and test and evaluation support for the MK 34 and MK 48 Gun Weapon Systems and the Naval Fires Control System (NFCS).
· Validate Maintenance Requirement Cards and review engineering and logistics reports.
· Conduct hardware and software testing at the Surface Warfare Engineering Facility lab, land-based test sites, and onboard ships; troubleshoot equipment and document test results.
· Develop test procedures and initiate or support Engineering Change Proposals.
· Support the development and revision of Engineering Change Proposals, Installation Control Drawings, Technical Manuals, Preventative Maintenance System documents, and ORDALT instructions.
· Conduct DMSMS market research and engineering assessments to support mitigation of hardware obsolescence.
· Perform NFCS equipment harvesting, installation, replacement, and testing in laboratory and shipboard environments.
· Provide fleet support in the office and onboard ships, including support to On-Board Technical Assistance requests.
· Support team leads with project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, financial plans, allocation plans, Task Planning Sheets, data calls, meetings, and Program, Command, and Engineering documentation as assigned.
· Comply with applicable safety standards and provide required personal protective equipment for ship visits when travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
· Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and seven years of professional experience, consistent with the recommended Mid-Level Engineer labor category.
· Extensive knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Computer Engineering, with experience in the technical industry or Navy weapons combat systems.
· Ability and willingness to travel in support of On-Board Technical Assistance requests as required.
· Ability to work in laboratory, land-based, and shipboard environments and comply with waterfront safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Gun Weapon Systems, Naval Fires Control System, Navy combat systems, test and evaluation, or weapon system lifecycle support.
· Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, DMSMS assessments, technical manuals, Installation Control Drawings, PMS documents, or ORDALT instructions.
· Knowledge of Agile Scrum frameworks.
· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products and strong technical writing skills.
· Willingness to obtain MK 34, MK 48, or NFCS knowledge through On-the-Job Training at ISEA Labs at the Surface Warfare Engineering Facility.
Security Clearance:
Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government-granted security clearance.
