At Universal Avionics, the work done on our production floor isn't background noise, it's the whole point. For over 40 years, our inspectors have been the last line of defense before avionics systems trusted by pilots and operators around the world leave our facility. If you take pride in catching what others miss, you'll fit in here.
This is a role for someone who respects the craft. You'll inspect printed circuit board assemblies, electronic subassemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and box builds against exacting standards, in an environment where quality isn't just a checkbox, it's a commitment to the people who rely on our products in the air.
You'll Thrive Here When...
- You take pride in precision work and hold yourself to a high standard
- You can read a drawing or spec and catch what others miss
- You're reliable, accountable, and comfortable making a call and standing behind it
- You enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable in a manufacturing environment
- You work well with a team and speak up when something doesn't look right
What You'll Work On
- Perform in-process and final inspections of PCBAs, electronic subassemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and box builds
- Verify conformity to engineering drawings, assembly instructions, IPC-A-610 standards, and customer requirements
- Accept or reject product based on established acceptance criteria
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate documentation
- Identify, document, and process nonconforming material
- Verify product configuration, part identification, labeling, revision status, and traceability
- Use microscopes, measuring devices, and other inspection equipment
- Follow ESD controls, safety requirements, and Business Management System procedures
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and support product flow
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ year of experience in electronics manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks accurately
- Basic math skills and computer proficiency for documenting inspection results
Why Inspectors Love Working Here
- Your call decides what does and doesn't leave the building, and that work matters
- Tight-knit quality team with experienced colleagues who take the standard seriously
- Stable, consistent work in a company that has been in business for over 40 years
- Room to grow your skills and move up within the organization
- 9/80 schedule – every other Friday off
