Position Summary

This is an ONSITE position located in Alexandria, VA.

National Capitol Contracting is seeking a Senior SharePoint Engineer to join our team in support of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The USPTO fosters innovation and economic growth by administering the nation's patent and trademark systems. This position provides advanced engineering support for the agency's SharePoint Online environment and associated Microsoft 365 collaboration services. The System Engineer Senior performs engineering, customization, integration, administration, operations, maintenance, and modernization activities supporting enterprise collaboration capabilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Engineer, administer, customize, integrate, and maintain SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration services supporting USPTO production operations.
  • Develop custom SharePoint Online pages, site templates, branding, workflows, and reusable components utilizing SPFx, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and scripting technologies.
  • Design and implement integrations between SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Automate, Power Apps, and other approved collaboration services.
  • Monitor platform health, perform preventive maintenance, investigate incidents, conduct root cause analysis, document workarounds, and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Support site redesign, coding, migrations, deployments, testing, upgrades, and implementation of new collaboration capabilities.
  • Evaluate integration alternatives, identify technical risks, prepare implementation estimates, and recommend engineering solutions supporting agency requirements.
  • Research and recommend new collaboration tools, SharePoint modules, Power Platform capabilities, Microsoft Copilot features, and emerging Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Develop engineering documentation, operational procedures, technical reports, activity reports, and training materials supporting production operations.
  • Support ServiceNow ticket resolution for advanced SharePoint issues and provide expert technical consultation to Government personnel and support teams.
  • Ensure collaboration services comply with agency governance, security, accessibility, and operational standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience engineering enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration environments.
  • Experience developing SharePoint customizations using SPFx, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PowerShell, and related technologies.
  • Experience integrating SharePoint Online with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Experience supporting engineering, operations, maintenance, testing, deployments, migrations, and production support.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 within a Federal Government environment.

Compensation:

$95,000.00 - $110,000.00


The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role.
