Overview:

The Financial Analyst Sr. will lead the analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support initiatives for both the client and the internal team. This senior-level role provides critical oversight on reviewing financial plans, comprehensive analyses, and the overall budgetary portfolio. The Senior Analyst will perform and advise on complex budget queries and spreadsheet manipulations, serving as a subject matter expert in financial modeling to optimize fiscal decision-making and project tracking.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-level analytical initiatives, financial forecasting, and reporting to provide strategic project support to the client and team.
  • Oversee the review and evaluation of financial plans, complex budgetary portfolios, and fiscal performance metrics to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Execute and advise team members on advanced budget queries and complex data manipulations within financial spreadsheets.
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated financial models to project costs, analyze variances, and track resource allocation.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the client and management team by interpreting complex financial data and delivering actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Standardized financial reporting templates and streamline data collection methods to improve the efficiency and accuracy of budget tracking.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • While this role may not have formal direct reports, the Financial Analyst Sr. is responsible for guiding, mentoring, and advising junior team members on financial modeling, budget querying, and analysis techniques.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant professional experience, specifically the performance of financial and analytical functions.
  • Proven senior-level experience in financial forecasting and modeling is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, macros, and data visualization tools) and a strong working knowledge of complex financial modeling.
  • Exceptional ability to query, manipulate, and interpret large financial datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Strong capability to look at high-level financial plans and provide strategic foresight regarding budget execution and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to translate intricate financial data into clear, concise reports and presentations for clients and leadership.
  • Government Contracting Familiarity: Understanding of the functions and operational structures typical of supporting a government agency.
