Responsibilities

We are looking for a Market Manager to lead growth efforts. In this role, you will drive market share expansion by managing product acceptance, leading project sales, building influential industry relationships, and directing a highperforming sales team. This position is ideal for someone passionate about construction sales, government markets, and strategic business development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase acceptance of HDPE/HP products through District Office product approvals.
  • Manage relationships with District Offices and DOT field personnel, including District Engineers, Area Engineers, Design Engineers, and Maintenance Engineers.
  • Identify and manage projects within the tiered approval process.
  • Lead the full sales process for state projects, collaborating closely with Sales Engineers, Sales Reps, and zone/corporate teams.
  • Build strong relationships with highway contractors and engineering firms.
  • Participate in industry and political events to support market positioning.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with state legislature contacts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (plants, corporate, CSR teams) to maximize performance.
  • Set and execute performance goals for the region.
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and lead a sales team.
  • Communicate market conditions, competitive activity, and company strategy to management.
  • Monitor and manage key daily metrics (orders, shipments, yield, etc.).
  • Travel daily with sales representatives and meet customers throughout Texas (50%+ travel requirement).

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, or technical field preferred).
  • 3–5 years of constructionrelated sales and sales management experience.
  • Experience with engineered or technical products.
  • Proven history of growing sales and driving business development.
  • Recognition as a strong industry sales performer (awards, measurable achievements, etc.).
  • Prior governmental sales or publicsector business development experience preferred.

  • Ability to negotiate effectively and build longterm relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Effective timemanagement and the ability to multitask.
  • Professional executive presence and clear communication abilities.
