Job Description
IDS is seeking a Wireless Technician II to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless communications systems. The selected candidate will work with a variety of radio technologies and communications equipment supporting mission and training requirements. This role requires experience with radio frequency (RF) systems, signal planning, RF analysis, and troubleshooting communications issues to ensure reliable network performance across operational environments.

Key Duties

• Install, operate, and maintain radio equipment ranging from HF through EHF systems.

• Support wireless communications infrastructure and associated equipment.

• Conduct signal planning and RF analysis activities.

• Determine appropriate radio placement and transmission power requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues and performance problems.

• Monitor communications systems to ensure reliable operation.

• Perform routine maintenance and operational checks on radio systems.

• Assist in configuring and testing wireless communications equipment.

• Maintain technical documentation and equipment records.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to support communications requirements and mission objectives.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.

• Active Secret security clearance required.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience installing, operating, and maintaining various radio equipment ranging from HF to EHF.

• Demonstrated experience with signal planning and RF analysis to determine proper location and radio transmission power requirements.

• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting RF issues.
