Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Accounting, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance organization. This position is responsible for general accounting close responsibilities related to the production of monthly financial statements. Other responsibilities include assisting with the external audit schedules and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting and financial close experience, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.



Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for the accounting close process.
  • Perform reconciliations of the company’s various balance sheet accounts of the general ledger to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the monthly closing.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as cash reconciliations and vendor invoice coding,
  • Prepare various audit schedules, pull supporting documents, help answer questions as requested by external auditors during their field audit work.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of revenue and expense summary schedules.
  • Support various accounting projects as assigned.
  • Identify problems and inefficiencies within accounting processes and suggest and implement improvements.
  • Provide assistance with new system conversion and enhancements.


Qualifications



Education & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • At least three years of professional accounting work experience
  • Experience in public accounting or with a SEC reporting company is preferred
  • Knowledge of both QuickBooks Online and SAP is preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to independently plan, prioritize and carry out simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization through verbal and written communication
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of PC based applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word

 

Travel:

  • Occasional


Standard and Physical Requirements:

Position involves sitting for long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
