Locatedin Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses inWellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educationalcommunity, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students withvarious needs and backgrounds. This is apart-time, non-unit position with no benefits.

MassBay Community College's Transitional Scholars Program is an inclusivecollege transition program for students with intellectual and developmentaldisabilities. Educational Coaches provide individualized academic, executivefunctioning, and social support to help students succeed in college whilepromoting independence and participation in campus life.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support the inclusion and success of students with disabilities in academic and campus settings;
  • Attend classes with student(s) and provide individualized support as needed;
  • Assist students in developing effective study skills, learning strategies, and academic habits;
  • Help students access college resources and services;
  • Foster student independence while providing guidance with social, communication, and functional life skills;
  • Encourage appropriate college expectations, behaviors, and self-advocacy;
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, supervisor, and other members of the support team;
  • Submit weekly progress updates to supervisor;
  • Maintain confidentiality of all students’ educational records and information;
  • Provide coverage for fellow Educational Coaches when needed;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • Interest in and commitment to working with students with disabilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities;
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;
  • Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $30.00 - 30.00 Hourly Wage
