US Smokeless Tobacco Company’s role is to responsibly manufacture and market its brands to adult tobacco consumers.  We are currently seeking a highly qualified Associate Specialist – Shipping for the Baker One facility at Hopkinsville, Ky.

The successful candidate will assist in the daily operations for Baker One Shipping & Receiving, Manage Direct Material use and Inventory while maintaining their ability to help in other production areas in Baker One. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Business Unit Leader (BUL) and Line Support Specialist (LSS) in determining and optimizing manning allocations, personnel coverage, relief schedules and work assignments.
  • Manage Direct Material Inventory and use in the Baker One facility
  • Assure necessary records are completed accurately, including Quality Management System (QMS), Safety, Contamination Control and Sanitation (CC&S), inventory, etc.
  • Keep the facility leadership team apprised of process, equipment and personnel items.
  • Complete records/transactions for each shipment/movement in the appropriate systems (MSF, JDA, Blue Yonder, UIBT, SAP, etc.).
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assist in training for the shipping and receiving processes and systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and assist in training for Direct Material Inventory and use.
  • Participate in the review of QMS documents supporting the shipping and receiving & direct material processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the production departments and shipping vendor to coordinate the delivery and shipment of direct materials and tobacco.
  • Communicate and collaborate with intra and inter plant stakeholders (Eagle One, QA, SH&E, CC&S, IS, Nashville Moist Facility, etc.).
  • Adhere to facility processes and procedures and quality requirements to assure completed batches conform to quality requirements.
  • Work directly with the Line Structure Team for support of Run To Target systems and tools to help incorporate a zero-loss mindset.
  • Be able to rotate shifts as needed for coverage.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Leader.

Specific Skills

  • Capable of safely operating Moving & Lifting Equipment (MLE) in a manufacturing facility.
  • Broad knowledge of Shipping and Receiving operations and processes and able to use shipping & receiving systems (UIBT, SAP, UCP, UEP, Blue Yonder & etc.)
  • Able to influence and negotiate.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written and ability to mediate between various operations.
  • Good computer skills (ie. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Handle stresses of fast paced environment.
  • Must be trustworthy and dependable.
  • Adaptive to changing manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to express thoughts clearly and logically.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Physical requirements include: the ability to easily move about an industrial facility, including, but not limited to, working in tight or confined spaces, working at higher elevations, climbing multiple stairs, working in dusty environments, working at temperature extremes (hot and cold) and humid conditions, and the ability to perform lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and general housekeeping activities.
