About the Job
The DC Shipping Floor Lead will assist the DC Transportation Manager with shipping retail and ecommerce packages, processing products using our standard operating procedures and leading the team of employees. The Floor Lead will not counsel employees within the department but may be present during counseling being performed by the supervisor. The DC Shipping Floor Lead will help covering both distribution centers in Hampstead but will primarily be located in DC1 500 Hanover Pike.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the DC Shipping Floor Lead include but not limited to:
· Assist supervisor in development a daily plan around unit goals and staffing requirements for Shipping.
· Assist supervisor in assignment of work. When assigning work ensure all priorities get the proper attention.
· Ensure all outbound cartons are shipped within expected guidelines.
· Manage any issues and product errors encountered in a timely manner.
· Ensure all Ecommerce orders are shipped correctly and on time.
· Manage the shipping of retail and ecommerce. Coordinate 3rd party pick-ups and scheduling.
· Communicate trailer numbers of outbound trailers daily.
· Communicate job expectations and coach employees.
· Responsible for ensuring employees are performing at expected rates. Work with employees as needed to ensure performance standards are achieved.
· Using the MOS System monitor employee performance daily. As needed perform new time studies and adjust rates.
· Cross train employees in all departments to help as volume demand dictates.
· Assist supervisor in performing payroll and employee attendance tracking weekly.
· Ensuring inventory accuracy is a priority.
· Enforce company rules and regulations as well as rules specific to the union contract. Both in your department and throughout the DC.
· Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures on all tasks executed within & Shipping.
· Communicate effectively to all external company departments that interact with RSU and Shipping.
· Look for ways for continuous improvement.
· Promote a clean and safe work environment. Work on safety tasks as assigned.
· Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
Skills & Experience
· High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
· Prior leadership experience is a plus.
· Ability to work and motivate your employee team.
· Ability to meet deadlines/productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
· Good attendance/punctuality record; consistently at work and on time.
· Ability to learn new skills and follow directions.
· Good math, counting, and problem-solving skills.

· Individuals must be Safety conscious.
· Working knowledge in the use of warehouse technology including radiofrequency (RF) scanners to perform daily functions is a plus.
· Previous warehouse/distribution/production experience helpful.
· Basic knowledge of computer PC skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
· Ability to work in a warehouse environment setting with physical demands that include continuous standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, grasping, reaching, climbing, or balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, crawling, pulling, pushing, working, and reaching overhead, using ladders or lifts, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more.
· Ability to use handling equipment and machinery including sorter systems, conveyors, RF guns, metal hooks, plastic bags, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, tape dispensers, and other materials necessary to the production and packaging of our merchandise.
· A dependable team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done and flexible in scheduling is required based on business needs (i.e., increased hours, weekends, holidays, and volume of work, staffing shortages, etc.).
Reporting – Working Relationships
· Reports directly to the Shipping management team

Pay
The starting rate for this position is $18.03 – $23.44 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining the final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
