This position is part of a team-oriented environment where collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential. The role contributes to a coordinated digital strategy, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and consistency of the college's online presence.

This position offers the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) following approximately six weeks of on-site training. Employees must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky within a reasonable commuting distance to the University of Cincinnati's main campus. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Job Overview

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati seeks a digital communications professional to serve as the primary steward of the college's website and assist with related digital platforms. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the college's web presence while supporting broader digital marketing and communications initiatives.

The role works closely with academic units and cross-functional partners to develop, manage, and optimize web and digital content in alignment with college priorities. The position contributes to a coordinated digital strategy, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and effective across platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical and organizational skills, along with the ability to use data and insights to support continuous improvement and effective digital communication.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the college's marketing and communication team to help maintain internal and external websites and continuously optimize content and user experience for performance.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting to faculty and staff who manage content for their unit pages.
  • Create and maintain social media content in coordination with supervisor.
  • Manage and assess college's analytics, utilizing and reporting data to inform recommendations and support marketing and communication initiatives.
  • Work closely with university's technical support team to ensure accessibility, functionality, and performance of college's digital platforms, supporting a consistent and effective user experience, specifically ensuring compliance with sections 504 and 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Develop and implement a digital marketing strategy and content in collaboration with team leadership and alignment with college priorities.
  • Manage the digital marketing calendar, ensuring alignment across campaigns, content, and key initiatives.
  • Create and update digital marketing reports, summarizing performance insights and key trends.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant education, experience and/or other specialized training can fulfill minimum education and experience requirements

Required Experience

  • One (1) year of relevant work experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience supporting or contributing to digital marketing or communications initiatives in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics and data to inform recommendations and improve digital content performance
  • Experience with content management systems (such as AEM) and strong understanding of web content structure and governance
  • Familiarity with SEO and emerging practices such as answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO)
  • Experience with Google Analytics or similar platforms for tracking and reporting performance
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and translate needs into well-structured digital content
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently within an established team structure
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
