Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Air Vehicle Engineer - Cost Volume Lead (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, the selected candidate will drive Cost Volume development supporting proposal strategies for the Air Vehicle integration design team and generate capture effort documentation while planning program execution. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism and leadership, strong work ethic, teamwork capability, and the ability to perform effectively within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Develop realistic cost estimates with known GR&As and risks that meet cost targets.  
  • Manage pricing, subcontracts, and other contributors to create a compliant Cost Volume.  
  • Establish guidance to BOE leads and consolidate input to ensure a consistent and compliant approach
  • Apply broad Air Vehicle integration experience to understand scope, tasks, cost bases, and estimating methods across the program.
  • Collaborate across sectors and with teammates to review IWO estimates and subcontract proposals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Top Secret clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

  • Experience generating technical documents and working with various software/data processing tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other related tools 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support.
  • Proven experience in proposal development and capture management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to strategize, draft, and deliver compelling proposals for government and defense contracts.
  • Final adjudicated U.S. government Top Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
