Job Description Summary
Responsible for the preparation/consolidation of statutory financial statements and reports for filing with regulatory agencies based on application of relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS, etc.), impact analysis of new accounting standards, reporting requirements including required disclosures, and regulatory standards to existing and new transactions, profit & loss (P& L), balance sheet, and variance analyses to commentaries to statutory financial accounts and reports.
Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and provide recommendations for improving financial reporting processes.
- Own financial statement disclosures and SOX 404 controls, ensuring strong internal controls, proper documentation, audit readiness, and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and integrate cross-functional (Technical Accounting, Consolidations, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Legal, Operations) inputs to manage the earnings calendar and drive the identification and disclosure of significant transactions.
- Partner with technical accounting to assess the impact of new standards (e.g., IFRS 18) and significant transactions on external reporting, ensuring accurate reflection and disclosure of accounting conclusions in the financial statements.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation, support external audits, identify SOX/process enhancements, and contribute to emerging initiatives and evolving regulatory requirements.
- Execute quarterly and annual external financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, SEC, and Swiss SIX requirements, including preparation, review, tie-outs, and XBRL oversight, ensuring complete and accurate financial statements and disclosures.
- Collaborate with team members to cross-train and develop through rotation of areas, while maintaining individual contribution and ownership of assigned areas.
- Prepare and consolidate statutory financial statements according to relevant accounting standards and assist in filing these reports with regulatory agencies, ensuring all required disclosures are included.
- Conduct analyses of new accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reports and disclosures.
- Prepare profit and loss (P& L) statements, balance sheets, and variance reports, ensuring financial data accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper reporting of financial transactions.
- Support the external audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Apply critical thinking to enhance the accuracy and completeness of filings.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience either straight big 4 or second tier accounting firm or public/private mix..
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- CPA or Chartered Accountant certification preferred .
- Experience with SEC reporting in a public company environment, including SOX compliance preferred.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with IFRS or US GAAP and hands-on experience with SEC financial reporting (audit and/or industry) preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail preferred.
Compensation
