Revenue Accounting Manager

Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to support one of our clients on an interim basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone in finance who can translate project activity into accurate revenue accounting, maintain strong financial controls, and partner effectively with project leadership. The role requires a strong communicator who can manage complex accounting processes across multiple initiatives while ensuring compliance and reliable reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Direct revenue accounting activities for a portfolio of technology-related initiatives, ensuring treatment aligns with ASC 606 guidance and internal financial policies.

• Administer milestone-based billing schedules, monitor budget-to-actual performance, and help maintain accurate financial tracking across active projects.

• Partner closely with Project Managers to explain financial results, review variances, and support updates to forecasts and project outlooks.

• Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations between project records, sub-ledger activity, and the general ledger, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Produce clear, audit-ready financial reporting that supports portfolio oversight and strengthens accounting transparency.

• Communicate project financial status and accounting impacts to stakeholders across finance, operations, and portfolio leadership.

• Support accounts receivable and revenue-related processes by validating billing activity, account balances, and supporting documentation.

• Work within enterprise financial systems and project accounting tools, including Microsoft Dynamics environments, to maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in revenue accounting with a focus on revenue recognition principles and ASC 606 compliance.
• Proven background in project-based accounting, including billing schedules, budget tracking, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on expertise in reconciliations involving sub-ledgers, general ledger balances, and audit support documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple Project Managers and explain financial concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Proficiency with ERP and accounting platforms such as Dynamics GP, Dynamics SL, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Experience with accounts receivable processes and revenue-related transaction review.
• Prior exposure to corporate real estate, property-related operations, or large enterprise technology programs is highly preferred.

Compensation

$65.00-$80.00 Hourly
