Sr. Attorney

We are looking for an experienced Pre-litigation Attorney to join a respected boutique law firm in California in a contract capacity with the potential to become permanent. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney who is energized by a fast-moving practice, values strong client advocacy, and works well within a collaborative legal team. The role focuses on guiding pre-litigation personal injury matters toward resolution while delivering thoughtful communication, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a substantial portfolio of pre-litigation personal injury matters, moving each case forward from active treatment through final resolution.

• Communicate regularly with clients to explain next steps, provide meaningful progress updates, and maintain a high standard of service throughout the case lifecycle.

• Evaluate medical records, billing materials, and supporting evidence to assess damages and strengthen claim value.

• Assemble persuasive demand submissions for insurance carriers that clearly present liability, injuries, and recovery considerations.

• Lead settlement discussions with insurance representatives and pursue favorable outcomes through effective negotiation strategies.

• Partner with attorneys, case management professionals, and administrative staff to keep files organized, responsive, and on schedule.

• Monitor deadlines, outstanding documentation, and follow-up tasks to ensure matters continue progressing without unnecessary delay.

• Recognize opportunities to improve client recovery while upholding ethical standards and sound legal judgment.

• Contribute to team meetings and case planning conversations by sharing updates, priorities, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of legal experience, including work in pre-litigation, personal injury, civil litigation, insurance defense, or a closely related practice area.

• Active attorney licensure and the ability to handle matters requiring sound legal judgment and direct client interaction.

• Prior experience managing pre-litigation personal injury files is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated success negotiating settlements and working directly with insurance adjusters.

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with strong attention to detail, organization, and deadline awareness.

• Experience with litigation-related tasks such as drafting motions, briefing, and discovery is valued.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate challenging conversations effectively.

• A dependable, accountable work style with a sense of urgency in a results-oriented environment.
