Sr. Accountant
Our client, a growing manufacturing company in West Des Moines, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 3–4 years of experience who wants to build on a strong accounting foundation while gaining exposure to reporting, analysis, and process improvement in a collaborative environment.
In this role, you’ll be involved in core accounting functions like general ledger work, reconciliations, month-end close, and journal entries, while also partnering with the team on financial reporting and ad hoc analysis. It’s a strong fit for someone coming from manufacturing, construction, or public accounting who enjoys digging into the details, working in Excel, and finding ways to improve processes.
Key responsibilities include: • Supporting month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and variance analysis
• Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate supporting documentation
• Assisting with financial reporting, data analysis, and ad hoc requests from leadership
• Entering and maintaining financial and operational data within accounting and ERP systems
• Helping support AP and AR processes as needed
• Building and maintaining Excel files used for reporting, tracking, and reconciliations (including pivot tables)
• Following internal controls and accounting procedures while helping identify efficiencies and process improvements

Qualifications:
• 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or public accounting environments.• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.
• Strong background in account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, variance analysis, and supporting work papers.
• Proficiency in Excel, including building spreadsheets and using pivot tables for analysis.
• Ability to work accurately with detailed financial data and maintain organized documentation.
• Understanding of internal controls and standard accounting procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
