Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization supporting complex government programs, is seeking a Director of Government Pricing & Strategy to lead enterprise pricing strategy and drive competitive positioning across a diverse portfolio of government contracts. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this highly visible role offers the opportunity to influence executive decision-making, shape long-term pricing strategy, and partner across Finance, Business Development, Contracts, Engineering, and Program Management. This is far more than a pricing execution role—you'll help determine how the organization competes, grows, and wins.

If you're currently leading government pricing, proposal pricing, cost estimating, or program finance within a government contracting environment and are looking for broader strategic ownership, let's talk!

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Pricing Strategy

  • Own pricing strategy across cost-type, fixed-price, and incentive contracts.
  • Develop proposal pricing, cost estimates, and financial models.
  • Guide bid/no-bid decisions and pricing strategy with executive leadership.
  • Manage indirect rates, forward pricing, and long-range cost planning.

Drive Business Performance

  • Analyze program financials, margin opportunities, and pricing assumptions.
  • Evaluate contract structures, financial risk, and cost competitiveness.
  • Improve pricing models, estimating tools, and financial processes.

Ensure Government Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with DCAA and DCMA on pricing matters.
  • Support pricing negotiations and audit-ready submissions.

Partner Across the Business

  • Collaborate with Finance, Contracts, Legal, Engineering, Business Development, and Program Management.
  • Advise executive leadership on pricing strategy, profitability, and growth.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing pricing organization.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Significant experience in government pricing, proposal pricing, cost estimating, program finance, or government contracts finance
  • Expertise with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TINA)
  • Experience with proposal pricing, indirect rates, forward pricing, and cost modeling
  • Exposure to DCAA/DCMA audits, negotiations, or pricing reviews
  • Strong financial modeling and strategic decision-making skills
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership

Nice to Have:

  • MBA and/or CPA
  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) experience
  • Experience improving pricing processes, tools, or systems

Why You’ll Love This Role / Company:

  • Own enterprise-wide pricing strategy—not just proposal execution
  • Direct access to executive leadership and key business decisions
  • High-impact role influencing growth, profitability, and competitive wins
  • Opportunity to build and elevate the pricing function
  • Work on complex, mission-critical government programs
  • Join a stable, privately held organization with a strong reputation and long-term growth
  • Competitive compensation package plus bonus potential
