Tax Staff - Public

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax team member to support tax preparation and compliance activities in a Michigan location. This role focuses on preparing accurate individual and corporate tax filings while working closely with internal teams and clients to gather information, resolve questions, and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate brings public accounting experience, strong technical tax knowledge, and familiarity with tax software platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and attention to filing requirements.

• Collect, organize, and analyze financial documents needed to complete tax engagements efficiently and on schedule.

• Communicate with clients and team members to clarify tax data, address open items, and support timely submission of returns.

• Apply current tax rules and guidelines when preparing filings to help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

• Use CCH ProSystem and related tax preparation tools to complete returns, manage supporting information, and maintain organized records.

• Identify discrepancies or missing details in tax documentation and follow up to resolve issues before filing.

• Assist with multiple tax engagements at once while prioritizing deadlines during peak filing periods

Qualifications:

• Experience preparing individual tax returns in a public accounting or similar structured environment.
• Experience preparing corporate tax returns with an understanding of standard business tax reporting requirements.
• Working knowledge of tax preparation processes, documentation standards, and filing timelines.
• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem, CCH ProSystem Fx, or comparable tax software.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial information carefully and accurately.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven setting.

Compensation

$50,000.00-$140,000.00 Yearly
