Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing organization in Chamblee, Georgia on a Contract to Hire basis. This role supports core accounting operations with a strong emphasis on reconciliations, general ledger accuracy, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in revenue accounting, cash activity review, and financial analysis, and can step into a fast-paced environment with minimal ramp-up time.
Responsibilities:
• Manage revenue recognition activities and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations, including review of outstanding and undeposited items, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger reclassifications to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support the month-end close process by reviewing account activity, reconciling balances, and helping finalize the books on schedule.
• Analyze account fluctuations and deferred expenses to identify variances, explain changes, and improve financial visibility.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking.
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts to verify accuracy and completeness across the ledger.
• Assist with documenting accounting procedures and strengthening processes as the company continues to expand through acquisition.
• Contribute to accounting support tied to manual workflows and system-related processes impacting revenue, cash, and operational data.
• Partner with the broader accounting team to identify errors, investigate issues, and improve day-to-day financial operations.
Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including work at the senior accountant level.• Strong hands-on expertise in month-end close, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with bank and cash reconciliations, including high-volume daily activity review.
• Proven ability to perform variance analysis, review account activity, and resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
• Background in fixed assets, deferred expense analysis, and revenue-related accounting processes.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems; ability to work effectively in environments with manual processes is important.
• Solid understanding of costing and broader general ledger activity, with the judgment to handle complex accounting work without close supervision.
Compensation
