Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to provide support for a Long-term Contract opportunity based on-site in Greenville, South Carolina. The position is ideal for someone who can bring structure to existing books, support ongoing accounting cleanup efforts, and contribute to a well-managed close process.

Responsibilities:

• Review existing financial data, identify inconsistencies, and help bring the books into a clean and reliable state.

• Manage general ledger activity, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and supported by appropriate documentation.

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial statements and period-end reporting.

• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to strengthen financial accuracy.

• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate variances between bank activity and internal records.

• Support month-end close activities by coordinating schedules, validating balances, and maintaining reporting readiness.

• Assist with accounting setup for organizational entities and provide financial support related to future system implementation efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in a senior-level accounting role with hands-on responsibility for core accounting operations.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet review.

• Demonstrated experience managing general ledger activity and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Ability to complete account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high level of precision.

• Familiarity with accounting environments that involve grant or funding-based reporting requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while supporting accounting cleanup and setup initiatives.
