Controller
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting operations, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and financial data remains complete and audit-ready.
• Prepare timely financial statements and management reports that help leadership evaluate performance and make informed business decisions.
• Oversee job costing activities by monitoring project expenses, validating cost allocations, and improving visibility into job profitability.
• Review existing financial workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement stronger controls and more effective operating procedures.
• Administer and optimize Deltek ComputerEase or a comparable accounting platform to support reporting, compliance, and operational accuracy.
• Guide and train team members on accounting processes, documentation standards, and best practices to improve consistency across the organization.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to follow up on financial questions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clear communication on outstanding items.
• Support process enhancement initiatives, including automation, AI-enabled tools, and other system improvements that increase efficiency and data quality.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for financial reporting and operational oversight.• Demonstrated background in a Controller or senior-level accounting role within a job-costing, project-based, or construction-related business.
• Strong understanding of general ledger management, month-end close, internal controls, and financial statement preparation.
• Hands-on experience with Deltek ComputerEase or similar accounting software used in project-oriented environments.
• Ability to analyze financial information carefully, identify issues quickly, and recommend practical solutions.
• Proven success working independently while managing multiple priorities with strong organization and follow-through.
• Effective communication and training skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and support adoption of new tools or methods.
Compensation
