Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced team. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong AP experience, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to resolving invoice and vendor payment issues. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate payment processing, supporting vendor communication, and helping the team manage day-to-day accounts payable operations. Responsibilities:
• Examine invoices carefully to confirm correct details, proper coding, and payment readiness before processing.
• Enter accounts payable transactions accurately and help maintain organized records for ongoing financial activity.
• Communicate remittance information to vendors and respond to payment-related questions in a thorough manner.
• Build strong vendor relationships by addressing discrepancies, clarifying invoice issues, and following through on open items.
• Support ACH payments and check run activities to help ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Investigate billing errors or missing information and take initiative to resolve problems with minimal oversight.
• Track invoice volume and processing activity to help identify patterns, priorities, and opportunities for improvement.
• Learn assigned workflows quickly and assist with taking over additional AP responsibilities as processes transition to the team.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of hands-on accounts payable experience in a high-volume or fast-moving environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding, account coding, and standard AP processing practices.
• Experience supporting electronic payments such as ACH as well as check payment cycles.
• Basic to solid Excel skills, including the ability to review, organize, and work with financial data accurately.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and follow through on corrections.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal team members.
• Self-directed and resourceful mindset with the ability to solve problems and manage tasks proactively.

Compensation

$24.70-$28.60 Hourly
