Health Screener
Client is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Health Screener or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support the health and wellness of children enrolled in its early childhood education programs. This role is responsible for conducting health screenings, collecting vital signs, maintaining accurate health records, and partnering with families and staff to ensure children meet required health standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform health screenings for children, including obtaining vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height, weight, vision, and hearing screenings as applicable).
- Observe children for signs of illness or health concerns and report findings to appropriate staff.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
- Review immunization and health records to ensure compliance with licensing and Head Start requirements.
- Assist with follow-up communication regarding health screenings and referrals.
- Educate families on preventive health practices and available community health resources.
- Support infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe screening environment.
- Collaborate with Family Services, Health Services, and Education staff to coordinate services for enrolled children.
- Ensure compliance with all agency policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and state health regulations.
- Perform other health-related administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred; Health Screener experience will also be considered.
- Experience taking and documenting vital signs.
- Previous experience working with children, schools, pediatric healthcare, community health, or nonprofit organizations is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse families.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic health documentation systems.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Compensation
