Accounting Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst for a 4 to 6 month contract engagement. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid accounting foundation and the ability to support light financial analysis, reporting, and trend review. The Accounting Analyst will assist with day-to-day accounting operations while helping identify patterns, variances, and opportunities for improved reporting accuracy and business insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with general ledger analysis and account variance review
• Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Help track and analyze basic financial trends, spending patterns, and operational results
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for finance and business leaders
• Assist with budget-to-actual reporting and fluctuation analysis
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accrual-related activities as needed
• Identify discrepancies and work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Contribute to process improvement efforts related to reporting and analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting or analyst experience in a corporate, public accounting, or similar environment
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Ability to perform light financial analysis and interpret trends and variances
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data organization
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
