Job Summary
The University of Kentucky Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering is seeking a Senior Associate Philanthropy Officer. Managed by the UK Philanthropy Office, the Philanthropy Officer Associate Senior – Major Gifts is responsible for philanthropy activities in and programs of modest size and scope. With a primary focus on major gift fundraising at high giving levels, the incumbent will engage in progressively more sophisticated philanthropic giving conversations with major gift donors and prospects of greater capacity.
They are responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors and prospects with a giving capacity of $25,000 or more. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining a well-rounded portfolio of between 100 and 125 donors and prospects, and making a minimum of 125 – 150 substantive face-to-face visits with major gift donors and prospects a year in order to advance the philanthropic relationship between them and the university. They will create a cultivation/solicitation strategy for each prospect for whom a major gift solicitation is planned. A minimum of 20 – 30 major gift proposals/solicitations prepared and delivered annually is required. The incumbent will be responsible for closing a minimum of 15 – 20 gifts annually with an additional 5 – 8 in the pipeline for solicitation the following year, raising a minimum of $1 million – $2 million annually as a direct result of individual portfolio activity.
They will provide counsel to the regarding philanthropy among various donor constituencies. The incumbent will work together with other members of their team on fundraising strategy (including prospect strategies and next steps), and ensuring that they meet their portfolio, visit, proposal, and yield metrics. Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional fund raising experience, a demonstrated record of success and a minimum of 3 years in successful management of fundraising work planning. Experience at a higher education institution and an understanding of the Land-grant mission is preferred.
