As a member of the Dining Services Department, the individual will work in any of the following positions: front of the house- food production/serving/cashier/barista and back of the house food production.

As a Dining Services Hospitality Associate, you will serve customers in an efficient and courteous manner. The Dining Services Hospitality Associate will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. The individual will focus on our Core Values: Safety and Sanitation, Friendly Courteous Service, and Excellence. All of our associates should improve our systems and overall operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Set-up, maintain, and break down all service lines. Ability to prepare and/or cook food for cold production and for pizza/grill lines. Stock, rotate and replenish merchandise as needed. Back of the house production includes salad and fruit bars, deli prep, desserts, and commissary items
  • May work on any of the following stations serving our customers: sandwich/salad/pizza/grill/Holy Grounds areas/register stations
  • Serves customers in an efficient and courteous manner in accordance with our mission. Responsible for serving the proper proportions and following all safety and sanitation practices. Is familiar with all menu items and recipes following our standards.
  • Cleans and sanitizes food equipment and dining room tables and chairs

NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Works special events/weekends as required
  • Assists in the dish room area if needed including sweeping, mopping, disposing of trash/recycling
  • Perform additional job duties as directed by supervisor or manager
Minimum Qualifications:
Work Skills:
  • Basic reading and writing skills; basic communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Practices excellent personal hygiene habits and follows and adheres to uniform standards
  • Ability to: follow directions and complete assigned tasks, work with minimal supervision, and to interact with people on a constant basis
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred – High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred – Basic knowledge of food service safety and sanitation
  • Preferred – Serv Safe Training and Allergy Awareness Training
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Tools, machinery, and equipment used:
  • Knives, slicers, and all kitchen equipment
Environmental conditions:
  • Chemicals used for cleaning
  • Weather exposure for special events
Physical requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push/pull up to 10 pounds independently and up to 40 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures

2.) Sunday – Thursday 4:00 pm – 1:00 am
3.) Tuesday – Saturday 4:00 pm – 1:00 am
4.) Friday – Monday 6:00 am – 5:00 pm
5.) Friday – Monday 2pm – 1am
6.) Sunday – Thursday 6am – 3pm

Full time, 9 months (9-month positions do not work during the summer months):

7.) Sunday – Thursday 3pm – 12 am

Part time, 12 months (works year round):

8.) Monday and Friday 4pm – 9pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm – 9pm.
9.) Tuesday – Saturday 9am -2:30pm
10.) Sunday and Monday 9am – 2:30pm. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 12pm – 5:30pm

Part time, 9 months (9 month positions do not work during the summer months):

11.) Sunday – Thursday 5pm – 10:30pm
12.) Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 1pm.
