Overview
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing janitorial operations across multiple assigned client locations within a designated market. This role ensures service quality, employee performance, client satisfaction, and operational consistency across assigned accounts.
The Area Manager provides leadership and support to supervisors and frontline team members while partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver exceptional facility services. This position requires a hands-on leader who can build strong relationships, solve problems quickly, and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Oversee janitorial operations across assigned client locations to ensure quality service, contract compliance, and client satisfaction.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor cleanliness, safety, staffing, and operational performance.
- Lead, coach, and support supervisors and frontline employees to drive accountability and engagement.
- Partner with clients to address service needs, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and retention efforts for assigned teams.
- Monitor labor, staffing, supplies, and operational performance to support efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver consistent service excellence.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in janitorial, custodial, facilities services, or related operations leadership.
- Experience managing supervisors, leads, or frontline employees preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and prioritize competing demands.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to travel locally between assigned client locations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in commercial janitorial services, facilities management, or integrated facilities management.
- Experience managing hourly teams in a multi-site environment.
- Experience with quality inspections, labor management, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Bilingual communication skills a plus.
