Job Overview

The College of Medicine is recruiting an Executive Director of Finance. The Executive Director of Finance will direct the operational, financial, administrative and strategic activities for the College of Medicine (COM) and UC Physicians, Inc. (UCP). Will work directly with the COM Dean's Office and UCP leadership, specifically in areas of finance and operations and serve as a resource for COM department business leaders on matters of compensation and budgeting.

The College of Medicine is recruiting an Executive Director of Finance. The Executive Director of Finance will direct the operational, financial, administrative and strategic activities for the College of Medicine (COM) and UC Physicians, Inc. (UCP). Will work directly with the COM Dean's Office and UCP leadership, specifically in areas of finance and operations and serve as a resource for COM department business leaders on matters of compensation and budgeting.
Essential Functions
- Manage the financial, administrative, and operational activities of defined projects for the COM and UCP as assigned by Operations and Finance leadership.
- Direct dually compensated provider compensation for the COM and UCP to include: Assisting Departments with updating annual compensation addendums and working with the Departments as needed for legal and administrative approval; Managing COM/UCP Compensation Tool and ensure that departmental assumptions follow published compensation addendums; Developing UCP payroll calculation tools to support published addendums; Review and approve annual salary increases for dually compensated COM/UCP providers; Review and approve monthly UCP variable calculations for dually compensated providers; Ensure monthly compensation is fully automated and balanced to source reports.
- Oversee budget and monthly variance reporting for the COM, UCP and the Physician Network at UC Health (UCPC).
- Oversee UCP reporting of clinical volumes and key metrics, serving as a key liaison with UC Health's finance counterparts.
- Manage Funds Flow between UC Health and UCPC on behalf of UCP, including but not limited to: departmental sustaining and strategic support, dollars for clinical coverage as directed by the Health System, funding for Medical Directors and various leadership positions, and funding for GME programs.
- Facilitate UCP & COM Effort Reporting for accurate attestation across the organization for positions funded by UC Health Funds Flow.
- Lead the UCP & COM Executive Director Finance Committee, a sub-committee of the UCP Board's Finance Committee.
- Work with UCP Decision Support, using UCP reporting tools and databases, to improve UCP variance reporting and budgeting, including compensation and productivity reports.
- Oversee UCP & COM Websites and Research Directory. Work with UC Health marketing and IT departments to make improvements to UCP website and UC Health provider and location directories.
- Participate and manage activities for College committees as assigned (ie: Scorecard Committee, Website, and Clinical Practice and Standards).
- Serves as an expert resource to others; may serve on committees and special projects.
- Serve as interim business administrator as needed.
- Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed to support departmental operations.
- Manage business staff assigned to support areas within the Dean's office.

Required Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
Required Experience
- Ten (10) years of relevant work experience.
- Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
