Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a Part Time Payroll Administrator to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a multi-state workforce. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong end-to-end payroll experience, sound judgment, and a detail-focused approach to compliance and employee pay. The person in this role will help maintain reliable payroll processing, resolve discrepancies, and partner with internal teams to keep payroll records current and accurate.
Responsibilities:
• Process complete payroll cycles for employees across multiple states while ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Review earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll inputs to confirm accurate employee payments.
• Maintain payroll records and update employee data changes such as new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, and benefit deductions.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies, respond to employee questions, and resolve issues in a timely and thorough manner.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations by applying current tax and wage requirements.
• Reconcile payroll reports and validate results before and after each payroll run to identify and correct variances.
• Use Paylocity to manage payroll processing activities, reporting, and routine system updates related to payroll administration.
• Partner with HR, finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is complete, accurate, and properly documented.
Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience managing full cycle payroll from initial data review through final processing and reconciliation.• Proven ability to administer payroll for employees working in multiple states.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws, tax withholding practices, and standard compliance requirements.
• Experience using Paylocity for payroll processing or closely related payroll administration tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Ability to analyze payroll data, identify inconsistencies, and take corrective action efficiently.
• Effective communication skills for working with employees and cross-functional teams on payroll-related matters.
