Associate
Responsibilities:
• Advocate for clients in Immigration Court proceedings, including preliminary hearings, merits hearings, bond matters, and removal-related appearances.
• Oversee affirmative immigration cases by developing strategy, preparing submissions, and guiding matters through agency review.
• Draft, assemble, and submit petitions, applications, motions, and supporting evidence with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
• Support immigration-related federal court matters, including habeas actions, when case needs require litigation involvement.
• Manage a varied caseload that may include asylum, adjustment of status, naturalization, family-based filings, waivers, and other humanitarian remedies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for interviews and hearings by explaining procedures, reviewing testimony, and strengthening case readiness.
• Partner closely with paralegals and legal support staff to keep files organized and deliver responsive service to clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients while tracking filing deadlines and advancing matters efficiently in a fast-paced practice.
Qualifications:
• J.D. from an accredited law school.• Active license to practice law in Texas.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
• At least 2–3 years of hands-on immigration law experience.
• Demonstrated background in removal defense and Immigration Court advocacy.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and client communication abilities.
• Ability to handle a busy caseload independently while maintaining quality and timeliness.
• Experience with federal immigration litigation, humanitarian matters, or trauma-informed client representation is preferred.
Compensation
