Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting operations for a long-term contract assignment based in Charleston, South Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented financial work and can step in quickly to help maintain smooth accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. The assignment is expected to run for at least three months, making it a strong fit for candidates seeking a long-term contract opportunity, including entry-level candidates with relevant accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner to support efficient accounts payable operations.
• Prepare and post customer payments while helping keep accounts receivable records current and organized.
• Enter financial and transactional data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation to confirm completeness and correct coding before processing.
• Assist with maintaining orderly financial records and resolving routine payment or billing discrepancies.
• Support day-to-day accounting activities using Eclipse software as part of the team’s workflow.
• Help ensure deadlines are met by monitoring open items and following up on outstanding transactions.

Qualifications:

• Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks in an accounting or office support setting.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to accuracy and detail.
• Familiarity with invoice handling, including review, entry, and processing.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with Eclipse software is preferred.
• Solid organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring administrative and accounting duties.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contacts.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is welcomed; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

$21.85-$26.00 Hourly
