Robert Half is seeking an experienced Temporary Consumer Loan Processor/Closer to support a lending team through all phases of the consumer loan process—from initial documentation and processing through closing and funding. This position is ideal for a professional who can independently manage a pipeline of loans while delivering exceptional service to both internal stakeholders and clients.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring loans move efficiently from origination to closing, with a target turnaround time of approximately 45 days from origination to funding, while maintaining compliance and accuracy throughout the process.

Location: Remote/Hybrid (as applicable)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Temporary- 3-6 months

Hours: Part-Time, 20–30 hours per week

Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET

Pay Rate: $25-$35 Per Hour DOE

Key Responsibilities

Loan Processing

• Collect, review, and analyze borrower documentation and supporting financial information.
• Complete required due diligence and maintain accurate loan files.
• Prepare and issue loan disclosures and ensure all required acknowledgments and signatures are obtained.
• Request and collect additional documentation needed for underwriting and approval.
• Communicate directly with borrowers regarding outstanding items, questions, and loan status updates.
• Maintain organized electronic loan files and documentation.

Loan Closing

• Coordinate the closing process with borrowers, settlement agents, title companies, and internal lending teams.
• Prepare and review closing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Track and clear pre-closing conditions.
• Ensure all required documentation is executed and received prior to funding.
• Support funding activities and verify final loan documentation requirements have been met.

Client & Team Communication

• Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding documentation requests and loan-related questions.
• Provide timely responses to borrower inquiries, with a goal of responding within 24 hours.
• Collaborate closely with lending, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure an efficient loan process.
• Participate in internal progress and status meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Previous experience in consumer loan processing and/or loan closing required.
• Strong understanding of loan documentation, disclosures, compliance requirements, and closing procedures.
• Experience managing multiple files simultaneously in a fast-paced lending environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems and document management platforms preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
