Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations for a Contract position based in Tacoma, Washington. This role will handle a mix of payables, receivables, and high-volume record updates while helping maintain accurate and timely transaction processing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with accounting software, managing invoice activity, and keeping financial data organized in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting details, and prepare payments in accordance with established timelines
• Record incoming payments, update customer account activity, and assist with resolving routine billing discrepancies
• Enter financial information into accounting systems with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
• Maintain organized records for invoices, payment status, and supporting documentation for easy retrieval and audit readiness
• Use QuickBooks to update transactions, reconcile account details, and support day-to-day bookkeeping tasks
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable reports to identify outstanding items and follow up as needed
• Assist with invoice processing workflows to help ensure timely posting and proper documentation
• Communicate with internal contacts and external vendors or customers regarding payment questions and account information

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an accounting clerk or similar finance support role
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks for transaction entry or account maintenance
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience processing invoices and maintaining organized financial records
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured work environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for routine coordination and follow-up

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
