Security Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead full-scope Level 2 security assessments for organizations that process Controlled Unclassified Information and are pursuing compliance validation.
• Examine documented controls, security policies, procedures, system security plans, plans of action and milestones, and technical evidence to determine alignment with required standards.
• Meet with client personnel to evaluate implemented safeguards, gather supporting details, and confirm the effectiveness of security measures.
• Prepare detailed assessment documentation, summarize observations, and produce reports that clearly communicate gaps, risks, and compliance status.
• Partner with internal assessment teams and client stakeholders throughout planning, execution, and final reporting activities.
• Offer practical recommendations to address deficiencies, strengthen security posture, and improve readiness for formal certification.
• Oversee multiple active consulting engagements while maintaining quality, timelines, and consistent communication with clients.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security assessment, or compliance-focused roles.• Active Certified Assessor certification required.
• Active Certified Practitioner certification required.
• Proven experience conducting end-to-end assessments within a consulting practice, authorized assessment organization, or comparable environment.
• Strong working knowledge of CMMC 2.0, NIST SP 800-171, and related federal cybersecurity compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience reviewing SSPs, POA and Milestones, security policies, control implementations, and supporting assessment evidence.
• Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to present findings and write clear assessment reports.
• Background in cyber security, application security, enterprise security, SIEM, or assessment tools is highly valued.
