Financial Aid Analyst/Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Review student funding records and supporting documents to confirm tuition resources are in place, including military-related education benefits, scholarships, and other aid sources.
• Track receipt of required financial aid materials, including institutional submissions and ISIR-related documentation, to keep files current and ready for processing.
• Conduct verification for selected student files promptly and ensure all documentation meets compliance standards before aid is advanced.
• Oversee loan-related requirements such as promissory note completion and provide entrance and exit counseling through one-on-one or group sessions.
• Evaluate incomplete files on a recurring basis and confirm that aid is released only when eligibility requirements have been fully satisfied.
• Monitor student accounts for accurate packaging, expected funding activity, and overdue balances to support timely disbursement of available aid.
• Meet with incoming students to begin the aid process, explain available funding programs, and outline required forms and next steps.
• Respond to student questions, resolve processing concerns, and connect individuals with appropriate campus resources when additional academic support is needed.
• Stay current on financial aid regulations and federal guidance while assisting with additional compliance or administrative projects assigned by campus leadership.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in financial aid, student funding administration, or a closely related higher education support role.• Working knowledge of financial aid compliance requirements and the ability to interpret and apply current federal student aid guidance.
• Experience reviewing documentation, completing verification, and supporting accurate aid disbursement processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to students and staff.
• Customer service experience in an education-focused or student-facing environment.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms and electronic record management tools used to track student files and communications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain detailed records, and follow deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience providing counseling or guidance related to loans, funding options, or student account processes is preferred.
