Billing Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team in a contract position with the potential for permanency. This role supports accurate invoicing, payment posting, and receivables tracking across multiple billing streams while helping maintain reliable financial records. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with billing systems, reviewing account activity, and coordinating with internal teams to address questions and keep processes moving efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Create and distribute invoices for services provided, verifying that rates, units, and charges are complete and accurate before release.
• Record incoming payments from state sources and other payers, applying receipts correctly and posting transactions within expected timelines.
• Research account variances and billing issues by partnering with internal departments to confirm service details, correct charges, and resolve outstanding concerns.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity, track open claims and unpaid balances, and maintain organized records to support follow-up efforts.
• Produce routine billing and receivables reports for management, outlining collections activity, aging balances, and items that may require attention.
• Maintain current client and billing information within computerized billing systems and complete additional billing-related duties as needed by the department.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting billing operations, including invoice preparation, payment application, and account review.• Working knowledge of billing systems and computerized financial records management.
• Ability to prepare billing statements accurately and handle collections or receivables follow-up in an organized manner.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
• Proficiency with standard office and accounting software, including data entry and reporting functions.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with finance staff and other internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced administrative environment.
Compensation
