Payroll Specialist

Help Ensure Employees Are Paid Accurately While Supporting Quality Healthcare Services

A respected healthcare organization in Carlsbad is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join its growing finance and payroll team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a critical role in supporting employees across multiple departments while ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with numbers, has a strong customer service mindset, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy. What You'll Be Doing

• Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for healthcare employees
• Review timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Maintain payroll records and employee data
• Process garnishments, deductions, and benefit elections
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Assist with payroll audits and reporting
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional manner
• Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation
• Collaborate with HR regarding employee status changes
• Assist with process improvements and payroll system updates

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll experience
• Healthcare industry experience preferred
• Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems
• Strong Excel and data entry skills
• Knowledge of California wage and hour regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
