Legal Assistant
A respected Orange County law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly organized and proactive professional with experience supporting attorneys and legal teams in a fast-paced environment. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and legal support, assist with case management, prepare legal documents, and help ensure the efficient operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals
- Prepare, format, proofread, and revise legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Assist with case and file management, both electronic and physical
- Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, court dates, and client appointments
- Draft routine correspondence and maintain client communications
- Assist with preparing pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, email, and document distribution
- Coordinate document filing, including California state and federal court e-filings as needed
- Organize and maintain legal records, exhibits, and case materials
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Perform general administrative duties, including data entry, expense reports, and scheduling
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 2+ years of legal assistant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Experience preparing legal documents and maintaining case files
- Familiarity with litigation, corporate, real estate, or transactional practices preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with legal case management and document management systems preferred

Compensation
