Sr. Financial Analyst

Compensation: $85.50 to $99 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to join a Contract engagement in Des Moines, Iowa. This role will focus on analyzing finance and accounting workflows, strengthening procedural consistency, and uncovering opportunities to improve operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in finance or accounting operations and can confidently work with leadership to assess current practices and recommend practical, well-documented enhancements.

Responsibilities:
• Examine existing standard operating procedures and supporting documentation to determine completeness, accuracy, and relevance.
• Meet with business leaders and key stakeholders to gather insights on how finance and accounting activities are currently performed across teams.
• Map and document present-day financial and accounting processes in a clear, organized manner for future reference and evaluation.
• Assess established workflows and controls to determine whether procedures are being followed consistently and effectively.
• Identify bottlenecks, control gaps, and areas where operational steps can be streamlined or strengthened.
• Develop practical recommendations that align with finance best practices and support improved efficiency and accountability.
• Collaborate with management to prioritize, refine, and roll out process improvement initiatives.
• Review completed work from accounting and finance staff to confirm it aligns with approved procedures and documented expectations.

Qualifications:

• Background at the Manager or Senior Manager level within finance, accounting, or a related operational function.
• Demonstrated experience creating process documentation and developing organized procedural frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations environments.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and department managers in discussions about process evaluation and improvement.
• Proven success identifying inefficiencies and helping implement sustainable workflow enhancements.
• Excellent communication, interviewing, and documentation skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable guidance.
• Capability to quickly assess current operations and provide clear recommendations supported by financial analysis.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, variance analysis, ad hoc analysis, and data mining techniques.

Compensation

$85.50-$99.00 Hourly
