Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk or Jr. Accountant to join a manufacturing team in California in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This position will support core accounting operations by handling payables and receivables, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with monthly close activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates clearly with internal and external partners, and is comfortable stepping in where needed to keep accounting processes moving efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

• Process invoices, verify supporting documentation, and follow up on discrepancies to maintain clean and accurate records.

• Enter financial data into QuickBooks and related systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Assist with month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations, report preparation, and transaction review.

• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal team members to resolve billing and payment questions promptly.

• Organize accounting files and documentation so records remain current, accessible, and audit-ready.

• Support additional administrative and accounting tasks as business demands increase, including overtime when required.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Proficiency using QuickBooks for routine accounting and transaction processing.
• Strong data entry skills with consistent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience processing invoices and maintaining organized financial documentation.
• Familiarity with month-end close support and general accounting procedures.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional contacts.
• Strong organizational skills and the flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Compensation

$22.00-$25.00 Hourly
