Associate General Counsel

Fort Worth, TX 76116, US Full Time
Compensation: $115 to $220 Yearly

We are looking for an Associate General Counsel to support a diversified real estate and homebuilding organization in Fort Worth, Texas. This in-office position partners closely with senior leadership on property transactions, corporate legal matters, and day-to-day risk considerations across multiple affiliated entities. The role offers broad exposure to acquisitions, development activity, commercial contracting, and operational legal support in a collaborative, professionally grounded environment.

Responsibilities:
• Provide legal analysis and practical guidance on a range of corporate and real estate matters affecting ongoing business operations.
• Lead title and survey review for property acquisitions, identifying risks, evaluating exceptions, and helping satisfy closing conditions.
• Prepare, revise, and negotiate purchase agreements, lot acquisition documents, and other contracts tied to development and real estate transactions.
• Advise business leaders on legal issues involving contracts, project execution, customer concerns, and general risk management decisions.
• Draft and negotiate vendor, supplier, and service agreements that support construction, development, and corporate activities.
• Oversee litigation support in partnership with external counsel, including reviewing filings, organizing discovery materials, and assisting with settlement strategy or proceedings when needed.
• Coordinate transactions from initial agreement through closing and post-closing follow-up, working closely with lenders, title partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain clear, timely communication with counterparties, consultants, and other external parties while representing the company’s interests effectively.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of Texas in good standing.
• At least 3 years of legal experience, with law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated background in real estate transactions, with added value for experience in land acquisition, development, homebuilding, construction, or commercial property matters.
• Strong contract drafting, issue spotting, and negotiation capabilities across a variety of transactional documents.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and legal matters efficiently in a deadline-driven setting.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, and effective relationship-building skills with business leaders, colleagues, clients, and external partners.

Compensation

$115,000.00-$220,000.00 Yearly
