HR Generalist
Responsibilities:
• Manage core HR activities for the site, including employee relations support, administrative processes, and day-to-day workforce assistance.
• Coordinate onboarding tasks for new hires, ensuring paperwork, orientation steps, and pre-employment requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Facilitate background screening and related documentation while maintaining compliance with internal standards and hiring procedures.
• Support benefit-related activities by assisting employees with questions, enrollment processes, and general program administration.
• Partner with site leadership and HR management to address workplace concerns, provide guidance, and help resolve employee issues effectively.
• Contribute to HR support within a union environment by assisting with grievance-related matters and maintaining appropriate documentation.
• Prepare and maintain HR records, reports, and employee data within HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Collaborate with payroll and other internal stakeholders to help ensure accurate reporting and smooth coordination of people-related processes.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar HR support role.
• Working knowledge of employee relations practices and HR administration in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience coordinating onboarding activities, background checks, and new employee documentation.
• Familiarity with benefits administration and employee support related to benefit programs.
• Understanding of unionized workplace practices; exposure to grievance processes is strongly preferred.
• Experience using HRIS platforms such as UKG Pro, UKG Ready, or similar systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manage HR records with accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable, detail-focused, and dependable communication style.
