Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing client’s accounting team in Ontario, California. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory-related accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, solid analytical skills, and a background working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and support preparation of financial statements
- Analyze inventory, cost variances, and manufacturing-related transactions
- Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking
- Reconcile inventory balances and assist with cycle count and physical inventory processes
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to ensure accurate reporting of production costs
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll reconciliations as needed
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
- Support external audits and provide requested documentation
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or distribution
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
- Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or standard costing is preferred
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Exposure to inventory controls, bill of materials, and variance analysis
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
