IT System Administrator

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and improve enterprise IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for managing servers, networks, cloud services, security tools, and end-user environments while ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, virtualization, networking, firewalls, backups, and infrastructure troubleshooting. This position requires a proactive problem solver who can manage daily operations while supporting ongoing technology initiatives.

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and access controls
• Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and user management
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security of servers and infrastructure
• Perform server maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
• Support virtualization environments including VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless access points, VLANs, and VPNs
• Support firewall administration, rule reviews, security policies, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Manage backup solutions, disaster recovery processes, and system restoration testing
• Assist with cloud infrastructure support across platforms such as Azure and AWS
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and infrastructure issues escalated from support teams
• Implement and maintain endpoint security tools, MFA, antivirus, and security best practices
• Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures
• Work with vendors and third-party providers to resolve technical issues
• Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and deployments

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar infrastructure role
• Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and firewalls
• Experience supporting virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
• Experience with backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
