Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Perform all mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance and monitor the operations of equipment in the facility under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Crew Foreman. Perform other tasks as required.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment breakdowns as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and / or machinery in assigned area of concentration
- Modify new and existing equipment to meet the needs of production and quality standards
- Install new equipment in plant as required
- Perform duties in the maintenance: fabricating, welding, repairing and rebuilding parts (pumps, cylinders, etc.)
- Follow lockout / tagout procedures
- Maintain and keep accurate records and documentation as required
- Regular attendance required
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Assist maintenance personnel in other work areas as needed
- Attend department safety and quality meetings
- Follow department and company safety guidelines
- Participate in Lean initiatives
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the department and other pertinent rules / regulations governing work standards.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic technology.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and safe handling procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use a welder and cutting torch.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
6 months of mechanical industrial maintenance work experience or 1 year of Maintenance education required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 100 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum twelve hour shift.

Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers
