What You Will Do

  • The Assistant Director for Training, Dev. & Belonging - is a member of the Morris University Center (MUC) administrative team. This individual is responsible for signature MUC programming, day-to-day building management that impact student and guest facing operations such as the Welcome Desk, management of human resources functions for the UC, staff development and training for both students and full time, and overall assessment efforts for the MUC.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

-Bachelors degree.
-A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Masters Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

AND

-Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business or public administration, marketing, student personnel or related field
-1+ year of college union/student center/student activities experience (concurrent with above minimum)

Experience in event planning and management. Proven organizational and leadership skills. Commitment to customer service. Excellent communication and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel and provide guidance to professional and support staff.

Must be available for variable hours during fall and spring semesters, occasional extended workdays, occasional weekends, and on-call emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

-1+ year of supervisory experience
-Program assessment experience and knowledge
-Programming experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion
