Sr Mgr Govt Pricing & Contracting
The Senior Manager, Government Pricing and Payer Contracts is an important role within the Market Access and Trade organizations. This position shall manage the ongoing business outsourcing for commercial rebate processing and government pricing. The Senior Manager shall provide support for contract negotiation efforts with commercial Payers by reviewing contract redlines, developing contract proposals, analyzing data, and gaining the necessary approvals for alignment. This position will work cross functionally with business partners across the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist 3rd Party Vendor with GP monthly/quarterly requirements by reviewing various data flows and processes necessary to generate monthly/quarterly government pricing submissions
- Performs extensive payer contract analysis of volume, discounts and ensures all agreements are net sales profitable to the organization
- Tracks performance of contracted customers to identify opportunities to maximize Net Sales
- Under the direction of Director, Pricing & Contracting, collaborates with Finance during LRP process to accurately account for all discount levels for contracted customers and new contract opportunities
- Creates reports to analyze trends and investigates discrepancies/outliers and proposes adjustments
- Works cross functionally with national account directors and internal stakeholders
- Reviews and gains required approvals for all key contract terms and conditions with key internal stakeholders
- Responds to various stakeholder questions and inquiries regarding contract terms and conditions
- Ensures execution of approved and finalized channel contracts, including timely handoffs and reviews for other internal stakeholders
- Manages contract requests and ensures all contract data and information is appropriately updated
- Provides support for all Pricing and Contracting Committee meetings
- Reviews customer invoices and processed claims administered by 3rd party vendor to ensure payment accuracy
- Creates executive summary reports highlighting key performance indicators for all executed payer contracts and Industry Pricing Reports for Market Access Team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (JD a plus)
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of government pricing and commercial contract experience
- Previous contract development or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of current policies and guidelines as it relates to contracts, rebates and services in the managed care environment
